The primary purpose of this update is to make CreativeStudio compatible with Windows 11 to better support customers purchasing new Stand Alone (SAM) laptops.

While we expect the installation process to go smoothly, please try to do the update during Gammill Tech Support business hours, 8 am – 8 pm, 7 days a week in case assistance is needed.
If you are installing CS 8.0 on a computer that already has CS7 do these things first:

Finish Active Projects

Save Projects

Sync to the PatternCloud

Check Microsoft Updates till all updates are installed

Removed old Import PVM and iPattern

Both of these programs have been experiencing issues with data synchronization, likely due to the many years since their last update. Importing from these programs will make a mess in your PatternCloud. Please do not use them if you still have CS7. The only fix is to completely empty your PatternCloud account and you will need to start over.

Removed old Pattern Catalog

This old CS feature depends on a Microsoft library that has not been updated for Windows 11 and an acceptable alternative is not available. However, you can still print your catalog through PatternCloud. Click here for instructions on how.

Limiting image import size to 15Mb and limiting projects to 70Mb

This helps to prevent the “Out of Memory Exception,” which is due to a variable exceeding Microsoft’s set limits; it is not due to running out of physical memory.
